Education
Marissa is currently a graduate student at East Carolina University in the Counselor Education program, specializing in clinical mental health. Her undergraduate degree is in communication from Texas A&M University, with a minor in psychology.
Specialties
While I am excited to work with all individuals, my current passion is women's issues and perinatal and maternal mental health. As a mother of two small children, I have learned firsthand how crucial support can be for new mothers. I am passionate about helping other women navigate similar challenges while promoting their mental well-being.
My Approach
My approach to counseling is holistic. Instead of focusing on a client’s symptoms, my aim is to recognize the interconnectedness of various aspects of their lives – such as relationships, spirituality, and environment, to provide a more complete approach to care. We all experience moments when we feel ‘stuck’ and need a little push to move forward and become the resilient and joyful individuals we’re meant to be. As a counselor, I would be honored to be that small step in an individual’s journey to well-being.
