Education

Zack has a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (Aggie Pride). His undergraduate degree is in Cell Biology and Psychology from East Carolina University.

Specialties

Zack works with adolescents and adults who consider themselves on the autistic spectrum, as well as those with ADHD and their families. Zack helps these individuals to grapple with the unique challenges such realities create, while also helping them to emotionally explore themselves. Zack works with his clients at their own pace, and helps them to establish and or work towards their goals no matter what they may be. His approach to therapy is a mostly casual and accommodating style, moving with the client as they grow and make personal discoveries. Zack uses a combination of emotional and mental therapeutic styles to both challenge a client’s perspectives, while also increasing personal awareness. His aim is to help clients identify and understand not only the what of a feeling, but also the why and how of such feeling.

Zack has worked with clients struggling with emotional neglect, familial struggles, and personal turmoil related to LGBTQ+. Additionally, he has helped those struggling with intense feelings of anxiety, depression, and feelings of aimlessness. His goal is to provide a client with a safe, supportive space where they feel free to unapologetically be themselves. To be the person they may hide from others without fear of judgment or rejection.

Zack has worked with all different types of people and backgrounds, and is able to adapt the therapeutic process to the specific needs of each client. He knows that each client comes with a unique life experience and has their own specific set of needs. Rather than grouping a client based on a diagnosis or list of symptoms, Zack works with each person to discover what they want and need out of therapy. Working with them to establish their own goals rather than trying to fit each client into a pre-established template. Mental health is for everyone, no matter personal background, ethnicity, or orientation.
